“Hmm, I dont see that email you sent, maybe I need to upgrade my internet plan.”

This line of thinking is non existent today but may be coming to the forefront with the little bit of news today that Comcast will be slowing certain web traffic during peak times (Source). Without getting into the political discussion of Net Neutrality you can see how this could have a negative impact on the web. So Susie is waiting for an important email and she goes to Yahoo to check but doesn’t see it as Comcast is under high strain and decided that her piece of email will be delayed. Say this same example happens but Google decides it doesn’t want any of its web traffic delayed so it pays Comcast a fee to allow its customers unfettered access. Now if Susie is using Gmail she now can see the email immediately. This situation is overly basic and could be seen as a stretch but is possible especially with their decision announced today.

Take a look at this popular web image used to describe a very different internet than we see today:

Tiered Pricing for the Internet

I would assume that if Comcast is successful with this many other internet providers will follow and the internet will look much different than it does today.

This is one of those things that every office should have. A word of caution though, I would suggest throwing this at someone who has heart problems. I dont think that causing heart failure is something you want to be responsible for.

These foam bricks can be yours for about 20 bucks. Click the image to go to the fake brick homepage.

The home values here have been all over place. A-list celebrities have been moving here for years and they have not spared any money when they build their homes. You see celebrities like Eva Longoria shopping here at stores like ELL wearing Voom dresses on the news. ELL is an online retailer based here in Scottsdale and have been in the local news with their additions to Westcor Malls around the valley and their over the top fashions.
SFP features this home to the right and caters to that high end crowd for future Scottsdale home owners. They have a private One on One package that keeps high end clients confidential. With Websites like Trulia popping up left and right the realtor market needs to differentiate itself from the competition and this is one way SFP has done this. Maybe they could take their celebrity clientèle shopping afterwards too.

They have been under enormous scrutiny and pressure from the WTO, RIAA, and the US government to shut down. They have been on life support for months as it has been almost impossible to add funds to accounts as major credit card companies, paypal and many other sources have blocked the site.

It would be interesting to see what happens with them legally. They have been sued for 1.65 trillion, yes thats right, trillion.

**Update: The site is back up but still has the same financial limitations as before.**

So I decided to go with the Motorola KRZR over the a900m and the RAZR. It wasnt really that easy though. So I decide im just going to go ahead and get the phone today and I call up the Sprint store to see if they have it in stock and a nice lady said yes. I wanted to make sure they had it before I drove over there. Once I got into the store the store manager walked up to me and I told him that I wanted the KRZR. He told me its not out yet, its been out for a few days now BTW. One of the other workers overheard and said, oh we have them, we just haven’t put them out yet.

The manager went to the back and came back with the phone in his hand. HE asked if I wanted to hold it and I said no, I just want to buy it. He was confused, I guess he has never had anyone in their that knew what they wanted?!? He then went to the back and picked up the phone in a new box and we walked over to the counter.

Im at the counter for about 30 minutes, some small chat, and then he says he cant sell me the phone because I have the SERO account and a company discount. He told me I have to call telesales and they can do it for me. I was still okay at this point and called telesales once I walked out the door.

Telesales fixes something in my account and after being on hold for 20-30 minutes I can order the phone. So now im getting the phone delivered to me in 7-9 days. But wait, the telesales guy didnt ask where I wanted the phone shipped and I just rented out my house to college kids. The last thing I wanted was my phone ending up there with someone signing for it and either it would sit on a counter somewhere or I would never see it. I asked for him to switch my address, “oh that cant be done”, then cancel my order, “that cant be done either”. Sprint’s suggestion is to call UPS. WTF!

I start yelling at the guy now. I dont think I have ever cursed at someone before and then I do. How can Sprint not be able to cancel and order? How can they not change an address? Are you kidding me? Im put on hold again and then he comes back and says my only option is to call UPS. I say no its not, cancel my f&ing account. I dont want the phone now. The guy transfers me to cancelations and im pissed.

I start off by apologizing for being upset but this is unbelievable that they cannot change or cancel the order. Oh BTW im paying 50 bucks more than I would of in the store but I didnt really care at the time. The lady is very nice and fixes everything right away. What I dont understand is why and how this happens.

I went to the store to get the phone now for 199.99, after 30 min they cant do it because of something in my account. (my account is in good standing, it is a technical problem on their end).

I called telesales and ordered the phone for 249.99, then they cannot change the address or cancel the order

I was transferred to the cancellation dept and the VERY nice lady fixed everything and gave me a 25 buck credit for the problems (I did’nt ask for this).

So after 3 hours and a small tirade the phone is being shipped to me. Was that all really necessary?

**Update – they sent the phone to the wrong address**

**Update – I think this phone is a bit over rated. Freezing Issues. I may return it and get the Treo 700wx**

**Update – I did end up asking to return the phone, they will send me a return pack. After 3 weeks and still no return pack I call up and ask if I can just return the phone to the store and according to her I can. So the next day before I hop on a plane I go to the nearest Sprint store and guess what, they wont take it back. It has to be returned through telesales where I ordered it.

A very long story short I have a 700wx I purchased off craigslist, still waiting for my credit on the original KRZR and am not in a 2 year contract. Overall I’m still somehow happy with Sprint but this could of been so much easier.

AD**As the cell phone becomes more and more complex learning as much about them as possible before buying one can be a big help.

Well I was out of contract and wanted to get a new phone through sprint. I noticed that wirefly was offering the Samsung a900 for free with new service. I thought that was great so i called up Sprint to match that price and sign me up for another 2 years. Well that should of been easy enough right!

So I called and the first rep said they dont match that co because of some way they issue the credit (I dont give a rats ass about that) and then I asked how much the phone would be, he transferred me. The next person I talked to told me the best deal would be 150 bucks for the same phone I could get for free if I just cancel and resign up. I explained this to the guy and he didnt say much, I then asked what he suggested and he told me to go to my local Sprint store and see if they could price match, if that didnt work then I needed to call the cancelation department and they may be able to help. So I did, the Sprint store couldnt match and I drove home. Now I call up and wait on hold again and get transferred to cancelations, after about 20 min the lasy gives me 100 credit to my account to cover my monthly payments and I now can go back to the sprint store and pick any phone I want and basically get close to the other co’s offer.

So over all I spent at least 3 hours driving calling and going back to the store and spending $50 bucks more than I would have if I just canceled and signed up new. Looking back I should of just canceled, my phone number is not worth 50 bucks and 3-4 hours.

Okay so I still have not actually signed up for a new phone, I am waiting on the new RAZR to come out but wanted to know what people thought was better. I have the 1250 Sero plan so data and internet is included. Any ideas guys?

With Halloween coming around I was curious if good ol pumpkin pie was actually healthy. I went to the local costco and picked up this great pie for a few bucks. It was an office hit and I started to wonder how healthy it was. I know that the orange color probably means its high in beta carotene like carrots but I wasnt sure.

Anybody Know? Ill keep poking around and will update this if i can figure it out.

**Update**

Registered dietitian Joey Sjostrom says pumpkin is a good source of fiber and vitamin A. Homemade pies are best with canned filling, because not all pumpkins are suitable for baking.

Sjostrom says most of the pumpkins we buy are jack-o-lanterns, and they’re harder to boil or to make into a pie filling. Winter squash or the sweet pumpkins, as they’re called, might be a better variety to make homemade pie filling from.

The fattening ingredients in pumpkin pie, such as eggs and butter, don’t compromise the nutritional value. But if you’re looking for a heart-healthy type of diet to follow, there are some recommendations that you can change.

Use margarine instead of butter, and use egg whites instead of egg yolks. You will still be getting the same benefits whether it’s a regular pumpkin pie filling or the low-fat version.

Because we can buy the pumpkin filling any time of year out of the grocery, it doesn’t have to be this time of season to get the benefits from the pumpkins. You can do it all year long.

Pumpkin pie normally contains eggs and dairy products, so it’s important to keep the pies refrigerated.

Ad:**If looking for health insurance then getting some health insurance quotes before spending money can be a good. idea.
